1. Is Velez Capital Management, LLC ("VCM") a brokerage firm?
No. Velez Capital Management, LLC ("VCM") is a private equity trading firm which trains and employs a team of professional traders to manage and trade its own brokerage account. VCM Traders are hired and given trading authority to trade the firm's account.
2. Will VCM hire someone with no trading experience?
Yes! While we will never turn away experienced traders, VCM actively recruits those with no prior trading experience to train. In fact, we have found that inexperience is often a blessing in disguise, due to the fact that the aspirant has no bad habits to break and no erroneous concepts and/or beliefs to eradicate. A blank slate, as it were, will allow us to build and mold the trader into exactly the type of trader we need and prefer.
3. What will my responsibilities be as a trader for VCM?
Your only duty will be to trade. VCM students will be taught several proven methods that have produced consistent gains for our existing traders. Over the course of a few weeks, the trader will ultimately settle on a style that best suits their profile and personality. Styles of trading can never be generic. They must match the trader's psychological make-up. This is why one trader can make a fortune with one method, while another trader can lose a fortune with the very same one. We will help you find what style of trading is best suited for you.
4. Do I need to deposit $5,000 risk capital?
No! A risk deposit is not necessary for those who graduate from our training program. Our graduates begin their professional trading careers trading "our" money. They do not risk their own money. In fact, VCM does not profit unless you profit. In a very real sense, we become partners only in your success as a trader. If you lose and call it quits, all the losses are ours. It's only when you begin to make money that we benefit. As a firm, this gives us every incentive in the world to do our best to turn you into a profitable trader, as quickly as possible.
With that being said, for those who have no interest in participating in our training program, but want a home from which to trade and a cost structure that cannot be had at any other trading firm/house on the street, a $5,000 risk deposit is required. This risk deposit helps us protect our firm's account from traders whom we have not trained and therefore have limited control over. Those who go this route are considered "independent traders" and are usually seasoned professionals who don't need anything other than good tools, a phenomenal rate and perhaps a nice environment from which to run his trading business. And as you should know, a better rate for independent traders means far more profits.
5. I am an experienced trader representing myself and several other traders who would like to join VCM. Can you accommodate us all at once?
Yes! Candidates with any trading experience should contact us to discuss their current arrangement. While every situation is likely to be unique, we can almost guarantee any trading group a better rate than anyone else currently on the street. Our firm's daily trading volume ranks us amongst some of the most active firms in the industry. As a result of this huge activity, we have one of the lowest cost structures in the entire trading industry. Our traders greatly benefit from our low cost, because low costs mean more profits.
6. Do I receive a salary if VCM hires me as a trader?
VCM Traders are paid on performance only. Compensation is based on each individual trader's net profit and loss. We provide a carefully structured Trader Advancement Program that will increase the capital that you can trade as you demonstrate consistent profitability. There is no cap on the levels that can be achieved, so your potential revenue is virtually unlimited.
7. I like everything I have read, but don't live near any of your branch offices. Is trading remotely for VCM possible?
Yes! Years ago, the answer to this question would have been a resounding "no." Today, due to incredible technological advancements in the professional trading field, we can monitor, assist, and teach a trader remotely, just as effectively as one on-site. While some traders do thrive in the energetic environment of a trading room, many do better from the comfort and solitude of their own homes. What's more, our remote traders experience all that happens on our main trading floor through our private web-based (virtual) trading room.
8. How do I get started as an Independent Trader?
To become a VCM Trader, you must satisfactorily complete one of the following two professional trading programs:
- The Master Trader Program is seven full days of intense training, personally given by Oliver Velez, VCM's CEO. This is the progam that has produced the largest number of trading successes for VCM.
- The Pro Trader Program, our alternative, is accelerated over five days. Many successes have come from this program as well. The only caveat is that the time to consistent profitability, for those who reached it under this option, was a tad bit longer. This program is also currently being taught by Oliver Velez, VCM's CEO.
- Those who want to become an Independent Trader can get started by filling out our online application. The steps outlined will get you up and trading with us very quickly.
9. When can I withdraw a part or all of my profits?
Monthly trading profit checks are dispersed on the 20th of the month following the one in which they were generated. As an example, profits earned during the month of January would be paid no later than the 20th of February.
10. Can I request additional buying power as a VCM Trader?
Yes. However, this increase will always be granted based on your trading performance. In our program, the VCM Trader, through performance, earns greater and greater exposure. As most traders know, the bigger the buying power, the bigger the potential profits. This extra potential is earned via "consistency" more than anything else. In the professional trading world, consistency is king, consistency married with low draw-downs and/or small account swings. Some of our traders have as few as 4 losing days in an entire year, with account swings that are nearly nonexistent.
11. I love the program being offered at VCM, but I can't trade full-time at the moment. Can I become a part-time VCM Trader?
Yes. Part-time traders often grow into some of our best traders. First of all, their growth and development as professional traders happen in smaller, more digestible periods. Secondly, the lessons learned are steady and the part-time nature of their trading reduces the risk of being overloaded and overwhelmed with too much at one time. Some of our best full-time traders today began as part-timer traders first.
12. Your Premium Services look very interesting to me. Do VCM Traders gain access to them for a cost or is it free?
As a VCM Trader, you will receive the VCM Gold Suite free of charge for life. The only goal we have is to help aid the trader in becoming as profitable as he/she can be. It is proven that our services increase the odds of a trader being consistently profitable, so as long as a trader is risking our money in the markets, they will have free access to all we have to offer. The VCM Scanner ProTM is available to you at our cost of $60.00 per month. If an item costs VCM money to provide, just the cost will be passed on to the trader. No mark up will be added. Our goal is to profit from trading profits only.
13. Is there an additional fee for retaking the training provided by VCM?
No. As a professional VCM Trader, you will be allowed to retake all the education provided by VCM and Oliver Velez free for life. There is never an additional fee, which makes our program very powerful. In fact, Oliver Velez, our company's founder and CEO encourages traders to take the full training program (both the 2-day seminar and 5-dayLive Trading Lab) no less than three times. Some have taken it as many as five times. Once you graduate and are inducted into our organization as a professional trader, you are a part of our family of traders for life. Your education and nurturing will never end and Mr. Velez will personally mentor you for as long it takes to make you a successful trader.
